Reason number one why women don’t like me:

I’m too sensitive. But not just to their needs—sensitive to everything. This freaks them out and/or turns them off. They want a dumb rock of a guy, I guess? Or at least perhaps closer to that type.

I think they’re just jealous.

Dear Guys,

How about this? How about you take a moment, step back, and stop worrying about why women don’t like you. Isn’t it tiring? Isn’t it stressful? Attraction is about self-confidence, good humour, and connection. And none of those things happen unless you are comfortable with who you are. Be yourself. Be happy with your own company. Be emotionally self-sufficient and mature. Be calm when you feel like being calm, and excited when you feel like being excited. Be jittery if that’s what you’re feeling.

Do you allow yourself to act on what you’re feeling? Do you even KNOW what you’re feeling? Do you know who you are?

If you’re a sensitive guy, and you find that turns off the majority of women, then you have two options. You can either freak out and try to change or hide who you are, or you can wait patiently until you find a woman who likes that about you. Not all women are the same, you know. Trying to hide or change yourself is a waste of time. Eventually your true self comes out, and you find yourself in a relationship with someone who doesn’t love you for who you are but for who you’re pretending to be. Then either you live a miserable life pretending to be someone you’re not, or she finds out and she feels betrayed and stupid, and you feel ashamed and hurt, and the relationship ends and everyone’s thinking “why the hell did that even happen?”

The other option is to spend some time in your own company learning to truly be who you are, until you find a woman who can love that about you. And THERE WILL BE women who just LOVE guys who are sensitive about everything. Or think it’s adorable that you get all geeked out about comic books or cats or geology or stamps or whatever. And they will secretly love that you still have your childhood blanket. And they will be worth the wait.

Just calm down, relax, and learn to love yourself.

Because we love you. Seriously.
